The Masterplan

The design of the development is only the outline part of the application but it was necessary to test whether elements of the proposals could be achieved within the site behind the sea defences.

The design process is fully explained in the Design and Access Statement, particularly the analysis undertaken to achieve a scheme that reflects the urban design principles of Cornish towns and villages.

In turn, this has led to the preparation of parameter plans that will control and inform the detailed design.  An illustrative Masterplan has been prepared that demonstrates one possible design solution that meets the design objectives and accords with the framework established by the parameter plans.

Building Design

The detailed design of the buildings will occur once outline planning permission has been granted. The intention is to blend the traditional and human scale layout of the resort with modern 21st century architecture – incorporating traditional materials and colours/finishes.
