The Beach will be designed, built and run in a way that provides a better quality of life for all those that visit, work or play within it.

Your views are welcome
The design of The Beach will take note of comments received from the local community during our consultation programme. There is a Visitor Centre on site to encourage those who come to Carlyon Bay to share their views.

Safe and accessible
The Beach will be safe, secure and accessible to and by everyone, including those with disabilities.

We will design it in conjunction with the local police to ensure that crime is minimised.
Rather than guests driving everywhere, walking, cycling and other environmentally friendly forms of transport will be promoted.

Existing public transport facilities will be reviewed, particularly those to and from St Austell with the aim of improving the service. A Green Travel Plan will also be drawn up.

Economic benefits
The Beach will provide employment and business opportunities for the local community. The development will create approximately 500 jobs during the construction process and a further 400 long-term jobs during the operational phase. Priority will be given to appointing local people.

Materials will be also sourced locally (where appropriate) and local suppliers will be given priority when it comes to supplying goods and services.

Long term management
The development will provide more and better facilities for use by both existing residents and visitors alike. Ampersand’s long-term stewardship of the completed facility will ensure an exemplary scheme, designed, constructed and managed to the high standards for which the parent company is renowned.
