The Beach - Supporting the local economy | Carlyon Beach

Carlyon Beach

What makes Carlyon Beach special is the potential it has for locals as well as visitors. It is a place of outstanding beauty that we want to make even better with a high quality development that will bring tangible benefits to St Austell.

THE BEACH. THREE BECOME ONE.

To the west lies Crinnis Beach with its distinct outcrop of rock, commonly known as Crinnis Island, sloping gently seawards. The central beach at Shorthorn is set against a backdrop of sandy dune, while its neighbour Polgaver Beach, a rich and verdant nature reserve, completes this unbroken stretch of coastline.

A WALK ON THE HIGH SIDE

The bay is shielded by a series of cliffs, offering walkers exceptional views from the South West Coast Path which meanders its way around the clifftops.

A CORNISH ORIGINAL

While the vision for Carlyon Beach is being realised, the beach remains open for business. Or rather, pleasure.
